Herobrine a Lenda (Herobrine the Legend in English) is a Minecraft machinima series made by Brazilian youtuber Kaykyplagamers in 2013. The series was on hiatus until 2020, where it returned with two new episodes, and never had a real ending.
The series at the time was widely criticized due to the low quality, the use of the creative mode, weak story and mainly for copying a series and film of the same name made by the youtube channel Tazercraft, but over time, it began to be praised for being nostalgic and old.
This show provides examples of:
- Ancient Evil: Herobrine, the titular antagonist. That goes for both the original creepypasta and this incarnation.
- Big Damn Heroes: Kayky and Guilherme when they go to rescue Vinícius and Marcos in a hidden place under a floor in an abandoned building.
- Child-Like Voice: basically ALL characters fit this trope (except in the last two episodes, where the players are more grown up). They are all adults in the story but are played by children.
- Death of a Child: Killed Offscreen: Johnny, Mayor Marcelo, Bruno, Mr. Bickle, and a bunch of other characters...
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Like many other series in this style. Many events of the previous episodes and even the deaths of the characters are simply forgotten or ignored later on. After the revelation of Bruno's death, the characters only react for like 2 seconds and then completely forget about it, and Bruno is never mentioned again, even though he was a prominent character.
- Extreme Doormat: Bruno and Johnny are a bit of that.
- Reused Character Design: In the first episodes, Vinícius and Bruno used the same default Minecraft skin (Steve).
- The Everyman: Several characters can fall into this trope.
- The World Is Always Doomed: Though not directly stated, the story apparently takes place in a world dominated by Herobrine, as everywhere the characters are is under attack by Herobrine.
