Random Pookie Adventures is a fan series/self-described "spinoff" based on the Hamtaro anime made in 2007. The show stars Pookie, a Fangirl of Hamtaro, as they go on adventures trying to gain the affection of Hamtaro (usually backfiring). The full series (including its spinoffs and specials) was reuploaded onto Project SNT's channel (yes, that ProjectSNT) in May of 2023 (albeit with the copyrighted music removed), making it now available to watch.

List of Episodes:

  • Pilot
  • Get Rid of Bijou
  • Hamtaro's Bodyguard (Parts 1 & 2)
  • Pookie Gets a Voice!
  • Specials 1 & 2 (though technically not part of the main series as both are contest announcements and a small transformation sequence respectively)
  • Christmas Special

Random Pookie Adventures has the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Hamtaro in the main anime is often innocent and friendly towards everyone. In the series, he's more visibly annoyed at Pookie's advances and snaps at her when she goes too far, something the original Hamtaro probably wouldn't do. Though, given Pookie's antics, it's not exactly unwarranted.
  • Adapted Out: Many characters from Hamtaro are abscent and do not appear in the series (notably Boss and Oxnard to name a few). Surprisingly, Laura Haruna, Hamtaro's owner, never appears in the series despite being one of the main characters of the original Hamtaro.
  • Animation Bump: Noticeable with the Christmas Special, as unlike the main series, some characters have actual animations (such as walking). This doesn't last long, however.
  • Butt-Monkey: Pookie, often due to her tricks backfiring or unintentionally humiliating herself. Bijou suffers this to a much lesser extent.
  • Celibate Hero: Hamtaro, mostly due to Pookie's antics.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Pookie herself, unsurprisingly.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Downplayed, but there are noticable differences with the pilot compared to the main series, including:
    • Rougher designs for Pookie and Hamtaro.
    • Lack of credits screen (with a simple date and the words "Boo Yah!!!" in place of it, as well as an color-changing Pookie image)
    • Use of Comic Sans instead of a different font.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Often to Running Gag levels, at least to Pookie. Pookie herself often tries different tricks to win Hamtaro over, but does not work half the time and results in either humiliation or hilarity.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: The first episode ends like this, where the main conflict of the episode turns out to be in Pookie's imagination.
    • The main series itself can be argued as ending like this as, despite Pookie's best efforts, she and Hamtaro never officially end up together.
