The quiet leaf listens on a transparent branch.
Proxima 64 (real name Nicholas Fedorov) is an artist, animator, musician, and retro enthusiast best known for his trademark audiovisual style which uses period accurate hardware and software to achieve a retro aesthetic. He has had an extensive history on the internet, spanning several previous channels and a full-length album. His current channel can be found here.

Proxima 64's work features the following tropes:

  • Absurdly Cool City: In Reforestation, Heaven contains an astonishing retro cityscape.
  • A Girl and Her X: In Verdant Phantasm, the main character's pet is a cartoonish purple bird
  • Angelic Abomination: At the end of Reforestation, there are biblically accurate angels amongst depictions of elements inside a computer motherboard.
  • Animesque: Proxima 64's videos often feature anime-style characters.
  • Blackground: In The Computer, the video takes place in a liminal black void.
  • Cheeky Mouth: In Floating Point, Proxima 64's signature character does this as she's accosted by mystical, occult symbols.
  • Deliberate VHS Quality: Almost all of Proxima 64's videos are ran through a real VHS player to achieve a fully authentic retro look.
  • Heaven: Reforestation takes place in Heaven.
  • Holy Halo: In Reforestation, the angels are seen sporting golden halos above their heads.
  • Inside a Computer System: At the end of Reforestation, it's revealed that the video took place inside a computer all along.
  • Impossibly Cool Clothes: In Verdant Phantasm, the main character is seen wearing a reflective blue skirt, a metallic grey top, and impossibly purple shoes.
  • Oracular Head: In The Light Ahead, an animated marble bust poetically muses about the mysteries of life while morphing in a strange and unorthodox manner.
  • Retraux: Proxima 64's audiovisual style is reminiscent of 80s/90s Retro CGI accompanied by music played on real synthesizers from the era.
  • Stairway to Heaven: In Reforestation, this trope is represented by an idiosyncratic portal called the "HEAVEN HOLE!".
  • Subverted Kids' Show: Like other content creators such as Xploshi, many of Proxima 64's videos feature surreal, uncanny parodies of cartoons such as Tom & Jerry and Mickey Mouse.
  • Summoning Artifact: In Verdant Phantasm, a mysterious reflective prism allows the main character to summon several things from computer windows that pop up such as a purple bird, a bowl of yellow, green, and red fruits, and a yellow robot with blue eyes.
  • V-Sign: In Floating Point, the main character does this several times.
