Loch Ness is a Coop Multiplayer Horror Video Game by JFi Games.
The game has you play as a monster hunter out to prove once and for all that the Loch Ness Monster
exists. To that end, you and up to four people have rented a little dingy, got together some equipment, and have set out on the Loch at night to gather evidence of her existence.
Be careful, though. Nessie isn't too keen on having visitors. Let's just hope your ambition isn't your undoing.
The game was released in Early Access on Steam on December the 3rd, 2021.
Loch Ness contains examples of:
- Always Night: The loch in the game is shrouded in perpetual nighttime.
- Character Customization: The option to change your character's appearance is available from the title screen. You can give them, among other things, curved horns.
- Coop Multiplayer: You and up to three other players can join in on a game.
- Flare Gun: You can pack a flare gun before heading out on the lake. You could shoot it at Nessie should she get close.
- Glowing Eyes of Doom: Nessie's eyes glow in the darkness.
- Grid Inventory: Your items are kept on one.
- Level-Map Display: An interesting variant. The map item shows you a real-world map of Loch Ness, which also displays where your character(s) is/are, and areas where you're likely to have the most luck seeing Nessie.
- Ominous Fog: Sometimes, a fog will roll in over the loch, impairing your vision, and looking pretty spooky given the in-game situation.
- The Place: Well, the game IS set on Loch Ness.
- P.O.V. Cam: The game is viewed through the eyes of the Player Character.
- Stock Ness Monster: This is a game about hunting Nessie, so of course she's in the game.
