Trivia / You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

  • B-Team Sequel: Snoopy! The Musical, which debuted in 1975, used the same concept, but it was composed by Hal Hackady (lyrics) and Larry Grossman (music) instead of Clark Gesner.
  • Cut Song: "My Blanket and Me" and "The Doctor Is In" are cut from the Animated Adaptation, though they are heard as background music.
  • Dawson Casting:
    • In most productions, the cast consists of teenagers or adults playing preteen children (and a dog). Justified as the roles are long and demanding, and in the case of the Broadway and off-Broadway productions, it would have been costly and tiresome to have a children-only cast on stage during at least one year's run.
    • On a more minor level, in the 1999 Broadway revival, Kristin Chenoweth (Sally) and B.D. Wong (Linus) were both three years older than their onstage "older siblings," Anthony Rapp (Charlie Brown) and Ilana Levine (Lucy).
  • Real-Life Relative: In the original Off-Broadway production brothers Skip Hinnant and Bill Hinnant played Schroeder and Snoopy, respectively.
  • Role Reprise:
    • In the Animated Adaptation, the role of Snoopy was voiced by Robert Towers, who had previously played the role in the Los Angeles cast with Gary Burghoff once again playing Charlie Brown and Judy Kaye as Lucy.
    • Bill Hinnant was the only original member of the off-Broadway cast to reprise his role in the 1973 Hallmark Hall of Fame TV adaptation.
  • Star-Making Role: For Kristin Chenoweth, who won her first Tony Award for playing Sally in the revival.
  • Technology Marches On: In the Animated Adaptation, Schroeder uses a command prompt-era computer to write his book report, typing it as he would play his piano.
