Trivia / Yakuza: Dead Souls

Go To

  • Franchise Killer: Narrowly averted outside of Japan. When Dead Souls underperformed in the West, Sega took it as a sign that Yakuza was no longer popular overseas and started to pull the plug on English-language websites for the series quietly. Had it not been for Sony's offering to localize Yakuza 5, the series might've been relegated to No Export for You.
  • Follow the Leader: The game is a rather obvious attempt at jumping onto the Zombie Apocalypse Shooter bandwagon made big thanks to the likes of Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty: Zombies and Dead Rising.
  • Schedule Slip: The Japanese version of Dead Souls, OF THE END, was originally set to be released on March 17th, 2011 in Japan. However, due to the 2011 Japan Earthquake, it was delayed until June 9th of the same year.
