• Colbert Bump: The band's cover's reinvigorated interest in the original artists, most notably Big Star and Tim Buckley.
• Revival by Commercialization - David Lynch arguably did this by putting "Song to the Siren" on the soundtrack of Lost Highway. It's also showed up in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones. It also benefitted from the use of a soundalike in a mid-80s TV ad for Thompson holidays - Watts-Russell wouldn't license TMC's version, but since it was a Cover Version anyway, he couldn't stop anyone else from doing their own in the same style. And as the ad version wasn't released in its own right, anyone entranced by the soundtrack would have to buy the TMC version instead.
