Trivia / The Wrong Man

Go To

  • Channel Hop: Alfred Hitchcock was under contract to Paramount at the time, but jumped over to Warner Bros. for this film, partly because Manny Balestrero had sold the rights for his story to Warner, and partly because Hitchcock still owed Warner a film under his previous contract with them.
  • Dawson Casting: Henry Fonda, 51 at the time, as Manny, who says he's 38 in the film, but was actually 43 when the real events happened.
  • Doing It for the Art: To get the film greenlighted, Alfred Hitchcock voluntarily offered to direct it without any pay.
  • Fake American: The very British Anthony Quayle as New York lawyer Frank O'Connor. He tries to cover up the accent but doesn't really succeed.
