- Actor Allusion: In Sara's first scene, a drawing of Blair Waldorf can be seen on the wall.
- Creator Killer: Christian E. Christiansen's short film Om natten got an Oscar nomination in 2008, so this was the chance to make his first American film. Sadly this movie, along with his other American movie The Devil's Hand were huge flops and he is back in his native Denmark making films.
- Dawson Casting: Minka Kelly was born in 1980 and Leighton Meester in 1986. Kelly was about 30 during filming, Meester 24, though both play college freshmen (usually starting at 19). Although if Rebecca was held back from college due to mental issues, she could be older than the age of the average freshman. That still doesn't explain Sara, though both of them can easily pass as younger.
- Star-Derailing Role: This film did significant damage to the careers of Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester.
- What Could Have Been: Leighton Meester was going to play Sara but asked to be Rebecca instead.
- According to the movie's IMBD entry, The original cut of this movie was rated R before the director re-edited & removed any or all overly sexual & violent scenes & language. Sadly, no footage of the R-rated version has surfaced.
