  • The novel Inside the Worm echoes this and other dragon legends.
  • In the horror movie The Lair of the White Worm, the D'Ampton Worm story is very obviously based in part on this legend.
  • The Fighting Fantasy novel Spellbreaker features a near-invincible worm monster called a Devilworm, whose sole weakness is running water — much like the Lambton worm. As in the Lambton worm myth, the Devilworm can be slain if tricked into entering a flowing river, the waters preventing it from healing itself once it's wounded.
