• Cross-Dressing Voices: Billie Lou Watt voiced Christopher in the English dub, and his Japanese counterpart, Sho, was voiced by two women: Masako Sugaya in the first series and Asami Mukaidono in the second. The late Runa Akiyama, also a woman, voiced Yuu (Uriah) in the second season; she specialized in bratty-little-brother roles (see also Tsukubo (Corky) in Flying House and Sunny in Attacker You!).
• The Other Darrin: In the original Japanese, Sho (Christopher) and Azusa (Joy) were both recast in the second season, owing to the fact that both characters had aged several years since the first series. Asami Mukaidono replaced Masako Sugaya as Sho, and the new Azusa was Takako Tsutsui, replacing Katsue Miwa. Hiroshi Masuoka retained the role of Zenmaijikake (Gizmo).
  • Averted in the English dub for the most part, although Billie Lou Watt voiced Gizmo instead of Helena Van Kort in the final episode.
• Sleeper Hit: CBN had never expected that the original Superbook run would become as popular as it did in both Japan and the US. In the former country in particular, the showrunners claim that it pulled in over 8 million viewers at its peak, and it was popular enough to be rerun continuously (along with The Flying House) until April 1986. They even go so far as to profess that it catapulted The Bible to becoming the best selling book there, even if Christianity remains now, as it was then, a minority religion in Japan.
