* SleeperHit: CBN had never expected that Superbook would become popular in many countries. In its country of origin, it was one of the most popular anime series on TV in its day, popular enough to be rerun continuously (along with ''The Flying House'') until April 1986, and was a big reason why Literature/TheBible became the best selling book there, even if Christianity remains now, as it was then, a minority religion in Japan.

* TheOtherDarrin: In the original Japanese, Sho (Christopher) and Azusa (Joy) were both recast in the second season, owing to the fact that both characters had aged several years since the first series. Asami Mukaidono replaced Masako Sugaya as Sho, and the new Azusa was Takako Tsutsui, replacing Katsue Miwa. (In English, Billie Lou Watt continued to voice Chris, and Sonia Owens reprised the role of Joy.) Hiroshi Masuoka retained the role of Zenmaijikake (Gizmo).

Source: https://www.superbook.me/ The CGI reboot was finally made it to Japan about seven years later after it aired in the United States. Plus, they keep Superbook title and Western character names like Chris and Joy instead of Sho and Azusa! Although the show was never released in Japan due to legal issues with Tatsunoko like the two unofficial Speed Racer shows like The New Adventures of Speed Racer and the Speed Racer: The Next Generation.

* NoExportForYou: The CGI reboot never aired in Japan despite the original series being made in its home country. Justified since the reboot was a western production.
