Trivia / Str.A.In.: Strategic Armored Infantry

Go To

  • Anime First: Actually, anime concurrent with the manga, but the anime is clearly the core of the franchise.
  • Children Voicing Children: Reilly Harrison, an actual 10-year-old, as Emily in the English dub.
  • Completely Different Title: While "soukou" does generally mean "armoured" and thus making the title Strain: Strategic Armoured Infantry makes sense (plus that was already canonically what "Strain" stood for), in the title, it's written as "symphony of light," which isn't translated over to the English title.
  • Creator's Oddball: This marked Studio Fantasia's reach into more serious stories like Saikano in the last years of the studio's life. Prior to this, it was best known for silly fanservice romps like the Project A-Ko series, hence the show having strong elements of both.
  • Dawson Casting: All over the place, of course, in all languages; in the episode 6 commentary for the English dub, the actors comment on how rare it is that Emily's voiced by a real kid when the rest of them are adults playing teenagers. Even with Emily, there's a brief moment in an episode where the credits mention Luci Christian subbed in.
  • Dueling Works: As the other Fall 2006 mecha series that opens with the protagonist witnessing a sudden attack and running across a green-haired girl with a marking on her forehead in a guarded pod, then having to craft a false identity to chase the truth, Strain got absolutely buried by Code Geass, which had premiered a few weeks before and had an all-star production team.
  • Portmanteau Series Nickname: S-Strain was used in official material.
