  • Creator Breakdown: The infamous No Ending is a result of the pressures of weekly manga serialization really stressing out Hisashi Eguchi. The stress was so bad that Eguchi only submitted about two-thirds of the the last chapter, leaving out the last five pages, and ran away to a hotel, secluding himself for a day until his editor called him and said he couldn't deal with him any more, resulting in the series being discontinued. However, Eguchi would somewhat rectify this in the 2009 Complete Edition of the manga.
  • Late Export for You: The manga was published in France and Italy in 2018 and 2019 respectively, two full decades after the manga's debut.
  • No Export for You: Obviously due to the nature of the series, neither the manga nor the anime have been exported to many countries, and the only three countries aside from Japan to publish the manga are China, France and Italy.
  • Romance on the Set: Satomi Majima and Tōru Furuya's relationship more or less began while voicing Hibari and Kousaku respectively note  and eventually resulted in their marriage a year after the show ended.
  • Studio Hop: The manga was originally published by Shueisha, the 90s bunkoban editions were published by Futabasha and the most recent edition, 2009 Complete Edition version note  is published by Shogakukan.
  • Those Two Actors: Satomi Majima (Hibari), Tōru Furuya (Kousaku) and Toshio Furukawa (Sparta no Kotatsu) previously worked together on Mobile Suit Gundam.
