  • The Danza: Lewis is implied to be saying some of the verses that come up in his scenes, technically making his "voice actor" Luis Dubuc.
  • Development Gag: Arthur's redone puppet includes pins on his jacket, something that was planned for his original puppet but got scrapped for time.
  • He Also Did: MysteryBen had been operating as an animator long before the creation of his current Youtube channel. Under the channel CMSPyrowolf, his exploits included the ever-popular Phoenix Wright - Boot to the Head animation, to which he considers The Turntable Turnabout a spiritual sequel of sorts.
  • The Merch: The crew usually makes some for conventions when they're hosting a panel and the Mystery Skulls online store occasionally has T-Shirts for the Animated music video series.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • MysteryBen himself is a big fan of Mystery Skulls. When he created The Turntable Turnabout, an unofficial music video for "Money", it got so popular that Mystery Skulls actually asked him to make an official animated music video for "Ghost".
    • Austin Lee Matthews used to do video and comic dubs as Arthur on his blog. He graduated to becoming Arthur's canon voice in "The Future".
    • Melanie Pulsipher, aka "thepurpah", was also a big fan of the series and frequently did fanart; she was called in to do the art for Losing My Mind and Lewis' real locket picture in "The Future".
  • Post-Script Season: The first video, "Ghost", was meant to be a standalone video, starting and ending the story. After the unexpected popularity of the music video, though, plans for four more videos were put in place, "Freaking Out" being uploaded about a year after "Ghost" originally was.
  • Schedule Slip: There were struggles in getting "Ghost" off the ground due to difficulties on MysteryBen's part, until he ended up getting some help in completing it. The band was apparently quite patient about the whole thing, however.
  • Throw It In!: The preliminary sketches for the trucker in "Freaking Out" show that he was supposed to have a chicken logo on his hat. One animator mistook the sketch to mean he had a literal bird on his head, and the rest of the team decided to roll with it.
