• Channel Hop: The series aired on the USA Network while this movie streams on Peacock.
• The Other Darrin:
  • In "Mr. Monk and the End", Molly Evans was played by Alona Tal. Here she is played by Caitlin McGee.
  • Unsurprisingly, getting back all the actors and actresses who played the various murder victims throughout the series wasn't exactly feasible. As a result, most, if not all, of the victims' spirits at the end are played by new actors and not specifically identified.
  • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Monk is voiced by Eduardo Borgeth, because his voice actor in the series, Hamilton Ricardo, died in 2015.
  • In the series' French dub, Stottlemeyer was voiced by Érik Colin, who passed away in 2013. In this movie, he's instead voiced by Gabriel Le Doze.
• Playing Their Own Twin: Richard Kind plays a pair of twin funeral directors.
• Role Reprise: Héctor Elizondo and Melora Hardin return as Dr. Bell and Trudy, respectively, having last been seen in the series finale in 2009.^note The four main cast members were last seen in the 2020 "Monk in Quarantine" sketch.
• You Look Familiar: Tony Shalhoub's wife Brooke Adams had a variety of guest appearances on the show and plays a publisher here.
