- Selina Kyle was meant to have a place in the film, but was removed since there were too many characters. They instead had Selina the cat put in.
- Damian was intended to be more serious, akin to his classic version, but the filmmakers decided a more natural childlike character would be more fun and heartwarming and would fit the Christmas story better.
