- Acting for Two: All the voice work in the first game was done by a single person (except for the naughty children, who were voiced by the main programmer of the game). The second game adds five more voice actors, though there's still instances of a lot of the characters sharing an actor.
- Development Hell: Merry Gear Solid 3: The Dead of Winter. The first trailer came out in July 2010, showing that the game would be in PlayStation 1-era 3D, like Metal Gear Solid 1, and that Halloween elements would appear. A month later, it was announced
that Merry Gear 3 would be put on the backburners to Arthur Lee can focus on The Underside. He estimated that Merry Gear 3 would be out by 2011 at the earliest. Since then, very little news has come about. Based on a tweet from just after Christmas 2017, Arthur Lee still wants to make it, but he's having trouble making the game's story as he's finding the writing of Metal Gear Solid V to not be as fun or as easy to parody as earlier entries.
