• Real Life Writes the Plot: At the end of season 1, Max was sent to live with Ray Liotta, who died a few months later after its airing. In season 2, Max moves in with David Spade.
• Schedule Slip:
  • The second season was scheduled to premiere in summer 2022, but due to Krapopolis being delayed, it was pushed back
  • It was also set to fully premiere in summer 2023, after its two holiday episodes aired the previous December, but due to Krapopolis being delayed again, Fox began airing it in March 2023.
• What Could Have Been: Vanessa Bayer was originally cast to play Honey, but the role was later given to Lisa Kudrow.
  • In some early synopsis articles, The Gray One was originally named "Lyle".
  • A different theme song was apparently planned and produced for the show, as a small portion can be heard at the end of numerous clips on Fox's Animation Domination YouTube channel. ^{For clarity}the music that plays during the end tag of Fox's AD videos is usually a portion of the theme song to the show in question. Housebroken's end tag music is a noticeably different piece of theme music in comparison to what would end up being used as its theme song. At some point, the showrunners decided to change it to the one we know now just before the show premiered.
