Beware of spoilers for the Ennea Series and the My Hero Academia manga!

Trivia Tropes:

  • Approval of God: SolarisLupi loves and encourages fanart of the Ennea series and links them in the author's notes of For Their Sakes. She even adapted Future Bakugo's hairstyle from one such fanart into the series.
  • Ascended Fanon: SolarisLupi loved Future Bakugo's hairstyle and design in gloriouscreativity's fanart so much she decided to write it into For Their Sakes.
  • Based on a Dream: The author has said the premise of For Their Sakes is based on a dream where the students of Class 1-A were trapped in Hawks' head as he fought a Villain. They wanted to help him fight but he refused them because if they used their Quirks to assist him, they would fade from existence. Class 1-A forced Hawks to use their Quirks, controlling him like a puppet, and they vanished one by one until only Deku was left. Deku ceased to exist and Hawks' wings vanished with him.
  • Content Leak: The author accidentally revealed that Future Miruko and Future Mockingjay killed Future Twice when sharing her notes on Ennea's timeline, which had chronology notes for events up to chapter five of For Our Sakes. The latter's involvement was unknown to readers before that point.
  • Line to God: SolarisLupi answers questions about For Their Sakes and Mockingjay: Origin in the stories' comment sections on Archive of Our Own.
  • Outdated by Canon: Due to the series being written before the completion of the Endeavor Agency Arcnote  and its nature as an Alternate Universe what-if type setting, aspects of the fic's lore don't match things that were later revealed in canon. Most notably:
    • Everything in the Paranormal Liberation Front War arc onward didn't happen in Ennea and the Voices' timeline, with the timelines diverging prior to the Endeavor Agency arc since Aizawa does not find out about Shirakumo until the students' third year in the future timeline. As such, the absent events include the Hospital and Mansion raids and Shigaraki gaining All For One.
    • In the Ennea series, Hawks' parents are merely alcoholic, selfish people who abused their child. In the manga, Hawks' father is an actual Villain and killer known as Takami the Thief.
    • At the time of writing, Dabi's characterization in the manga consisted of "the mysterious, quiet, stoic, and distant one", leaving a lot up in the air about his thoughts, motives, and personality. While Ennea was correct that Dabi is Touya Todoroki and is extremely arrogant, the series went with the idea that Dabi was stoic and cool-headed by nature and his motive was to get revenge for what Endeavor did to his family, albeit in a way that would hurt the Todorokis more than Dabi consciously intended. He also cares about others deep down. Very deep down. However, the manga has revealed Dabi is a completely selfish asshole who doesn't care about anyone. Not his family, not the League, no one. Also, Dabi is not stoic at all. He is a gleefully psychopathic manipulator who grins and dances while innocent people die around him. Canon's Dabi and Ennea's Dabi are night and day when it comes to their personalities and motives.
  • Teasing Creator: The author likes to mess with reviewers by "reassuring" them that bad things definitely aren't going to happen and the characters will totally be fine with an abundance of "innocent" whistling, totally-not-evil giggling, and smiling emojis.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Hawks was going to be nicknamed "Bronze" by the Voices, referring to his rank as the Number Three Hero. The author went with "Gold" instead to match his color scheme and how he's the quote "Number One of the Nine".
    • In Mockingjay: Origin, a minor cut plot would have involved Coin's Detraction Quirk (which alerts her when others feel negatively towards her). It would have failed to alert her that Katniss was planning to assassinate her since Katniss always felt negatively towards Coin.
    • The author nearly cut the Retiarius/the other Ennea is Finnick plot but was encouraged to keep it in by the manga's reveal that Kurogiri is Aizawa's thought-to-be-dead friend Shirakumo.
    • Endeavor almost died during For Their Sakes due to his fans' constant demands that the author redeem him despite how such a redemption would be Out of Character and out of place at that point in the fic's timeline. SolarisLupi became frustrated enough to consider dropping a random building on Endeavor just to get his fans to stop bothering her about it, but she calmed down by reminding herself of the plots she still wanted to do with him. Thus, she did not go through with it and Endeavor survived.
    • Hawks and Aizawa's conversation about balancing empathy and duty was originally in chapter twenty-one of For Their Sakes but the author reworked it for chapter two of For Our Sakes, stating it worked better after Dabi and Twice helped save Hawks from Kaetsu.
  • Word of God:
    • SolarisLupi confirmed that part of the reason the Voices ended up in Hawks' head instead of their past bodies is because Eri was Decaying as she sent them back. In the same post the author also confirmed the Voices' teenaged selves were not affected by their future selves' time traveling mishap.
    • Several details about Quirks from Mockingjay: Origin are only revealed in SolarisLupi's author's notes and an FAQ at the end of For Their Sakes (Warning: Link contains spoilers). These reveals include Snow and Coin's Quirks.
    • The author has confirmed that she will not change the Ennea Series' UA traitor to match canon's traitor even if they are revealed during the writing process.
