  • Dummied Out: Hidden within Buu's Fury's scouter code are unused scouter entries for the mayor of Hercule City, and an extra database entry for Videl in her initial pigtailed form...but most notably, entries for Androids 13, 14, 15 and Android 13's super form.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": Janemba first appeared in Buu's Fury close to two years before Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn would be dubbed in English.
  • Recursive Import: Due to its sales, II would be the only game in the series to see a Japanese release. In fact, II holds the distinction of being the first and only Dragon Ball video game to be developed in America, and released later in Japan.
  • Troubled Production: Legacy of Goku II was a massive improvement over the first game, but it wasn't without its hurdles. After seeing the success of Budokai 1, Atari demanded that Webfoot develop a fighting game while II was still in active development, forcing Webfoot to quickly hire more people (most of which had no experience developing fighting games) while working under a strict six-month time period. While II was released to critical acclaim, the fighting game, the infamous Taiketsu, was immediately labeled as the company's Old Shame. To make matters worse, they were also developing a third DBZ game during that time called Saiyan Smash, a Power Stone-esque fighter, that ended up getting scrapped due to the stress Webfoot was under.
