- Approval of God:
- The DefunctTV episode of Bear in the Big Blue House earned the praise of Tyler Bunch, the puppeteer and voice behind Treelo, Pop, and Doc Hogg.
- The episode about FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman got similar praise from Jim Conroy, who voices Ruff.
- The Chibi Tiny Tales crew enjoyed "Disney Channel's Theme: A History Mystery" and put in the original theme at the end of the 40th Anniversary short as tribute.
- Blooper: "Walt Disney's Childhood Amusement Park, Electric Park" opens with the story of Buffalo Bill's rise to and fall from fame. The issue is that the very first picture in the video isn't of Bill, but of Wild Bill Hickok, who is completely irrelevant to the narrative.
- Creator's Oddball: "Journey to EPCOT Center: A Symphonic History" is notable in that it features no commentary other than voiceover in certain segments (taken from archival interviews, or read out by voice actors). Most Defunctland videos feature at least Kevin's commentary, and even Live from the Space Stage: A Halyx Story — which is otherwise a traditional documentary — featured him as an interviewer. Kevin acknowledges that "Journey to EPCOT Center" is very different than his usual content, and is meant to portray the story in a more visually engaging manner.
- In Memoriam: The episode on Epcot's Body Wars was dedicated to Marty Sklar, former president and vice-chairman of Walt Disney Imagineering.
- Reclusive Artist: "Kevin Perjurer" is a pseudonym for the show's creator/host; his real name remains undisclosed, he has not revealed his face publicly, and he keeps much of his personal information private. The only identifiable things he has disclosed about himself are that he grew up in Kansas City (specifically on the Kansas side) and currently lives in Florida.
