Trivia / Crash: On the Run!

Go To

  • Awesome, Dear Boy: Despite being an endless runner mobile game, the developers have stated their intention to put their all into it and replicate the mainline Crash experience as much as possible, especially being open to the idea of taking full advantage of the franchise's massive cast. Also, some members of the staff posted their own anecdotes, memories and character redesign diaries, reflecting how much they love the series.
  • Colbert Bump: Thanks to the official trailer, Model Citizen's "Be Like Me" became as popular as "Rockefeller Skank" did from It's About Time. It also got AMV's associating it more with the game and mashups with other properties.
  • Content Leak: Prior to the official announcement of Season 3 being a crossover with Spyro the Dragon, datamines had already uncovered several assets pertaining to the event, such as costumes, the Season art featuring Dark Spyro attacking, Crash, Coco and Spyro, and bosses such as Gnasty Gnorc. Not to mention other Crash games have had crossovers with Spyro before now, making his reveal somewhat of a Foregone Conclusion.
  • He Also Did: King is responsible for none other than Candy Crush and other similar games.
  • Milestone Celebration: This game was planned to make its full, official launch on the 25th anniversary of the series.
  • The Original Darrin: After being replaced with Scott Whyte and Eden Riegel respectively in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Jess Harnell and Debi Derryberry return to voice Crash and Coco once more; however, both characters mainly use archived recordings from N. Sane Trilogy and Nitro-Fueled.
  • Word of God: According to the developers at King, the game takes place in the center of the multiverse established by Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Original concept art for the game depicts Wumpa Island with the Doominator remains visible in the background. They are replaced with the crashed Space Head in the final game.
    • Malefor was the first choice for the Big Bad of the Battle of the Dragons season. Dark Spyro was eventually chosen over him.
    • Season 7, "Madame Amberley's Evil Exam", was due to run in November of 2021, but was pushed back to a later date and eventually cancelled altogether.
    • Code also suggests that N. Trance would have been added to the game at some point.
