Trivia / Air Supply

Go To

  • Channel Hop: The band released one low-selling album on Columbia Records before having hits on Arista.
  • Chart Displacement: The duo only had one #1 hit in the U.S., "The One That You Love", which isn't quite as well known as "Lost in Love" or "All Out of Love".
  • Descended Creator: Arista Records president Clive Davis got a co-writing credit on "All Out of Love" after suggesting a crucial lyric change in the chorus. It was originally written as "I'm all out of love, I want to arrest you", which meant that the singer wants attention, but Davis felt that meaning would fly over the heads of Americans, and asked Graham Russell to change it to "I'm so lost without you."
  • Referenced by...: Young Sheldon: In "Potential Energy and Hooch on a Park Bench", Sturgis likes the music they play at Davidson's, which includes songs by Air Supply. Sturgis even half-sings an Air Supply song.
