Tear Jerker / Surf's Up

• During the interview prologue, Cody's father, Bob Maverick, is mentioned with an image of him waving, having a good time at Shiverpool while getting food for his family and to a lesser extent, his tribe... only to zoom out to reveal that he's seconds from being Eaten Alive by an orca. Animal Jingoism could not be more harrowing as Cody's mom especially didn't take this revelation well..
  Cody's Mom: (while audibly tearing up) But he never...He never really knew his father...
• Cody's sad reaction when he finds out that his necklace is actually one of hundreds that Big Z gave to his "biggest fans".
• Big Z discovering his old shack.
• Geek/Big Z telling the story of why he faked his death, that he let his ego go to his head and was too humiliated to return to his fans as a has-been after getting shown up by the younger and flashier Tank. Cody bitching him out about it as Geek trudges back to his shack is the perfectly sad capper to a once-happy beach party gone bad.
• Which immediately led to Cody realizing that his father's death, which started as a joke, affected him more than he once thought.
  Cody: I mean, I already lost one father...
  Filmmaker: What do you mean by that?
  Cody: N...nothin'.... Just forget it.
  (Cody turns and tearfully walks away)
• After surfing his first big wave, he tried to grab his shell necklace which he always wears for good luck. But is saddened to remember that he threw it away in anger for Zeke being a quitter. The necklace was even given to him by Zeke as a kid.
