This Pokémon parody series, as dark as it is, is definitely not afraid to let the waterworks flow.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • Ditto Disaster:
    • Bulbasaur laughing briefly has kind of a sad undertone to it, considering it's one of the last times we ever get to see him genuinely happy. Early-Installment Weirdness at its finest.
      • To make that even worse, this episode was confirmed to be non-canon due to the continuity errors, meaning that Bulbasaur was never truly happy to begin with.
    • Tepig tearing up and blaming himself for "Cyndaquil" getting critically-injured.
  • Bulbasaur during Lavender Town: The Untold Story. It's hard not to feel bad for him because of what he goes through in this episode, and knowing how easily shaken up he is, it probably only screwed up his mentality even more. Let's go down the list...
    • Bulbasaur seeing the abandoned amusement park, and feeling people touch him.
    • Bulbasaur getting kidnapped.
    • On Rollercoaster Fun, he cries out "i don't wanna die..." DAMN.
    • Imagine what this all looks like from his point of view.
  • Typomaniac:
    • Fennekin is horrified when she accidentally sets Chespin, along with the bullies, on fire after trying to protect him. She even says that she needs to kill herself.
    • Her mental breakdown after Mudkip convinces her that she would be better off if the bullies killed her. She gives up, stating that the only thing she deserves is whatever she thinks is coming to her. Thankfully, Chikorita never actually wanted to hurt her, but still…
    • Mudkip in the climax of his argument with Chespin. "Are you saying I’m not your friend!?" This then brings to light a clear fear of abandonment. He sounds both enraged and distraught, telling Chespin that he’s the good guy and doesn’t want to be mean. Then he gives up, clearly about to cry as he says his though a little cheesy, line: “Fuck the world, I hate everybody. Everybody’s mean! I’m not!”.
    • And the cherry on top? Mudkip is the same age as Fennekin. What could have possibly driven a preteen to live alone, develop clear abandonment issues, and become a literal serial killer?
  • Out In The Reign:
    • In Chapter 3, during the scene where Lugia is confronting Raikou, Bulbasaur cries as a result of his paranoia and exclaims that he wants to go home. And Raikou just mocks him.
    • Bulbasaur's massive Heroic BSoD in Chapter 5. If you thought he wasn't traumatized enough, he definitely is now.
  • Mudkip getting shot and "killed" by Professor Sylveon and Chespin's reaction to it.
    • Chespin at the end of Rare Candy. He has been completely crushed after all that had transpired earlier. He’s scared of evolving and is mourning the loss of Mudkip, as well as the former Fennekin, even as Braixen stands right in front of him. "I don’t wanna talk to you, I wanna talk to Fennekin." DAMN. Thankfully, he gets better in subsequent episodes.
  • Scraggy saying that he misses Chikorita in Starters - Season One - Galar Pokédex Edition.
