• From R4, we have Racing Team Solvalou's GP Mode story: Enki Gilbert's son Giuliano was killed in a driving accident thirteen years ago. When he sees you, the player, you remind him of his late son, and his paternal instincts kick in. In the Final GP, Gilbert goes from demanding perfection out of you to worrying for your safety to outright begging you to just survive in the final race, because he doesn't want you to fall to the same fate that his son did.
• You gotta feel for the other team heads a little too:
  • Pac Racing Club's Shinji Yazaki: He was Giuliano's teammate at RTS the day he died, and is still having trouble coming to terms with it. Part of what triggers the reaction in Enki above is finding out he's in charge of PRC.
  • Micro Mouse Mappy's Sophie Chevalier getting forced into an Arranged Marriage towards the end of the season by her dad. Subverted in that she tells him to stick it.
  • Dig Racing Team's Robert Chrisman, a genuine Nice Guy in a struggling team, always getting utterly shat on by his Bad Boss, with Rob giving an increasing savage "Reason You Suck" Speech to them as the season progresses, but never taking it out on you, and when the team tries to butter him up for next season after the final race and a season of being put upon, he finally says Screw This, I'm Outta Here People with a similarly fraught relationship with their boss will sympathise.
