Tear Jerker / Future Card Buddyfight

  • Tasuku's Motive Rant in Episode 53 "Kids are so powerless... and I would be too, if I didn't change. You see... I couldn't even help my family. So I decided to become an adult. I went from being protected, to being a protector!" It really reinforces how much of a Broken Ace Tasuku is.
  • Tetsuya breaking down during his match with Sofia in Episode 58. When confronted with the choice of winning and moving his team forward, or surrendering to get Terumi's memories back and help her remember. He misses her and wants to help her so much that he's willing to to throw all his hard work.
  • The aftermath of the Gaen Cup and its effect on Tasuku, leaving him despondent and ashamed of himself—until Jack shows up and comforts him. It's during the exchange that Tasuku learns that to grow, he must find the courage to accept his mistakes. When he sees how willing Jack is to forgive him in spite of how he'd been treating him, Tasuku breaks down and tearfully apologizes, all while hugging Jack tightly. Also doubles as a Heartwarming Moment.
  • In a way when one thinks about it, Gao's loss against Ikazuchi REALLY hit him hard; not only was it his first loss, but it made him lose Tenbu. This was oddly enough to prevent his main Dragon World deck from allowing him to touch its cards without getting shocked. THEN comes Noboru being kidnapped and turned into part of the Big Bad's team....speed up to his battle against Shigamine with his Hero deck he's been using very often and then he couldn't even keep his composure to heed Drum's advice in that he was going to avoid his final attack (by using the proper card in his hand). At that time, Gao was thinking about his dead brother Yota, which drives the point home in that due to his very first loss being a very big one, it ultimately gave him a possible form of PTSD.
  • In Buddyfight Ace, Ranma being overshadowed by Yuga is a big one, especially for anyone whose been in that situation. What makes things worse is that Ranma is a genuine good person and Yuga credits all of his wins and his current popularity to him, he wouldn't have even started buddyfighting if it wasn't for Ranma. Problem is, other than Yuga's close friends, no one else sees it this way, and even Yuga's attempts to get Ranma the spotlight gets pushed aside by a public that prefers the much more excitable Yuga, even though it isn't Yuga's fault. This leads to Ranma opening up the pack that he got at the same time that Yuga opened Garga and being corrupted by Vanity Husk Destroyer and the Lost World, in turn becoming Vile Ranma.
  • For players of the game, after 6 years of Buddyfight, Bushiroad had announced they would discontinue the game and the series as a whole.
