- The endings for Kohtaro, Batu, Emilio, and Mihee in the third game can be this to some. The Lonely Piano Piece that plays in the endings makes it all the more depressing.
- Taken in context with the previous game, Kohtaro becomes The Woobie as the final boss of the previous game was his older brother. Having to fight his older brother, losing his shikigami, and then fighting his childhood friend must have been nothing less than an emotional train wreck for him.
- A lot the scenarios that involve Kohtaro and/or Roger breaking down upon seeing Tsukiko. Roger really hits it home in one scenario where he says he knows it's an illusion but that doesn't make it any less painful.
