• Episode 7:
  • Ruby coming out of the pumpkin is a Sazae-san reference.
  • Aoi's butler is called Genshiro and is a very muscular man with seven scars on his torso who's prone to losing his shirt, making him a tribute to Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro.
• In episode 8, a background character is drawn similarly to Amuro Ray and when his girlfriend slaps him, he says his immortal line "Not even my father hit me!"
• One of the Imagine Spots in episode 44 is a reference to Ultraman.
  • And another features Rinko as Luke Skywalker and Dian as Darth Vader.
• In Episode 50, Dian uses a much larger variant of his petrification ray with resembles Buu's Human Extinction Attack.
