Go!Animate: The Movie is a 2013 feature-length web animated film created by Cayby J with the animation platform GoAnimate. The film recycles the plot of the 2012 film Greeny Phatom: The Movie, with some alterations, plot and character-wise.

PC Guy is a delinquent who, one day, steals a toy from Walmart. Eric, who is in a bad mood after PC Guy forced him to refrain from watching Go!Animate, takes revenge on PC Guy by chasing after him, until PC Guy is caught by security, who, in return, gives the toy to Eric for free. During the film, Eric and PC Guy repeatedly fight for possession of the toy, until a mean man named Mr. Keebler threatens to exterminate Eric and the other toons with his invention, the Dalek-Septor 9000.2.

The film claims to have been released in 2006, and claims to have been distributed in the US by 20th Century Fox. Both claims are not true, especially because GoAnimate was not properly released until 2007.

A sequel called Go!Animate: The Movie 2 was initially planned for release in 2014, but was eventually canceled. A teaser trailer for the film can be seen here.

Due to the film being a near remake of Greeny Phatom: The Movie, this page only lists trope examples exclusive to this movie and tropes related to deviations from Greeny Phatom: The Movie. Trope examples originating from Greeny Phatom: The Movie can be found at Greeny Phatom.

Tropes:

  • Adaptation Expansion: The film expands on Greeny Phatom: The Movie with the introduction of a proper villain named Mr. Keebler.
  • Adaptational Location Change: Downplayed. In Greeny Phatom: The Movie, Dr. Beanson steals the toy from a Toys 'R' Us store. In Go!Animate: The Movie, PC Guy, the equivalent of Dr. Beanson, steals the toy from a Walmart store.
  • Beat Panel: Done when PC Guy watches TV, which holds on for the stock music's length. When it finishes, he gets scared by the Snee-Oosh, Inc. logo. Cue stock roller-coaster POV footage.
  • Big Bad: Mr. Keebler, a character introduced in this film, is the main villain of the story, as he desires to exterminate Eric and the other toons with his Dalek-Septor 9000.2.
  • Covers Always Lie: The official poster for the film, inspired by the Greeny Phatom: The Movie poster, depicts Eric and PC Guy next to each other on the podium in the middle of the poster, despite the fact that they are antagonistic towards each other for most of the film. Likewise, Kayla can also be seen on the podium, despite only playing a minor role in the film, while Victor and Mr. Keebler can be seen in the crowd away from the podium, despite having more screen time and prominent roles than Kayla.
  • Kids' Meal Toyinvoked: Invoked in the fan commercial for Burger King, which claims there are 4 toys available to collect, including figures of Eric with a metal detector, and PC Guy with the toy.
  • Limited Animation: While Go!Animate: The Movie contains animation compared to Greeny Phatom: The Movie, it is still this, notably because of character movement limitations. For example, the yelling arm movement is used in the movie to express a character's anger, joy, and as a dance move during the scene where Eric and Victor get gum stuck on their shoes.
  • The Movie: A feature-length film made and based upon the platform GoAnimate.
  • Present-Day Past: The film is implied to be set around 2006, due to the fake release date. However, the toy PC Guy steals from Walmart is a doll of Finn from Adventure Time, which did not properly come out until 4 years later, in 2010.
  • Related Differently in the Adaptation: In Greeny Phatom: The Movie, Little Guy gives the toy that was given to him by security to his clones. In Go!Animate: The Movie, Eric (The equivalent of Little Guy) gives the toy to his kids.
  • Self-Deprecation: At the beginning of the movie, Eric appears on stage under a spotlight, and claims the audience are "wasted to watch this crap".
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: As with Greeny Phatom: The Movie, Go!Animate: The Movie also utilizes text-to-speech, this time provided by GoAnimate's voice library, for a majority of the characters, with aversions noted from Kevin and Santed Stickguy, who are both voiced by Cayby J.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Cookie Monster in the movie looks slighly different, with him sporting a blue button-up shirt and pants to match his blue fur. This is justified, given GoAnimate's limitations with character designs.
