Recap / Xiaolin Showdown The Return Of Panda Bubba

Go To

While in Tokyo, Japan (Kimiko's hometown), the gang visits Kimiko's father, who's revealed to be Toshiro Tohomiko, who's the owner and head of Tohomiko Electronics, the biggest electronics/videogame industry in all of Asia and one of the wealthiest people in the world. While visiting Kimiko's father, they discover that he's been tricked into accepting PandaBubba as a business partner.

Tropes

  • The Bus Came Back: As told in the title, PandaBubba makes another appearance.
  • Funny X-Ray: When going through the sliding x-ray at Kimiko's dad's company's building, Raimundo's hair and Clay's hat appear on the monitor.
  • Gamer Chick: While Kimiko's always been this, it's really showcased in this episode—her dad's the head of a major electronics corporation and is outright referred to as a "videogame tycoon" by Clay. And Kimiko's showdown against PandaBubba ends up being a game of Goo Zombies 4 (although Kimiko says that she never even finished Goo Zombies 3).
  • Gold Digger: After Kimiko reveals to Dojo and the boys that Toshiro Tohomiko (one of the wealthiest and most successful businessmen in the world) is her father, Raimundo asks her if he already told her she's his favorite monk.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: For as much of a goofball as he seems, as soon as Kimiko's father learns who PandaBubba really is (in that he's a criminal), he ends his partnership with him.
  • Once an Episode: Kimiko vs Pandabubba in a game of Goo Zombies 4. Kimiko's Silk Spitter for Pandabubba's Shroud of Shadows. Pandabubba wins the first two rounds despite Kimiko's good performance. By the third level, Pandabuba is pinned to the ground by the zombies' goo. Kimiko takes both Shen Gong Wu to enter the final boss fight. Some power generators light up giving her the power (and restoring her health bar apparently) to defeat the monster.
  • Secretly Wealthy: Played With—while it was obvious in previous episodes that Kimiko came from a rich family, this episode reveals just how wealthy Kimiko's family. After the gang flies past the Tohomiko Electronics-skyscraper and Kimiko refers to it as "[her] papa's building," this makes the others realize that not only is Kimiko the daughter of Toshiro Tohomiko, but that Kimiko comes from one of the wealthiest families in the world.
  • With Catlike Tread: The ninja-disguised Jack-Bot stealthily nabs the Zing-Zom Bone while the monks are fighting Jack's Koi-Bots. It then trips over a cat, trips over its own feet, and breaks through a wall during its escape.
  • You, Get Me Coffee: "And you! Get me a tall, half-caff mochachino, light on the foam!"
