Raimundo becomes buff with the Glove of Jisaku

Tropes

  • Cassandra Truth: By forcing an eruption of the volcano near Raimundo's hometown, Wuya forced Rai himself to use Shen Gong Wu during the passing of the Heylin Comet to stop the eruption, causing the Wu to forcibly bond themselves to Rai. Even though Rai would tell the truth about his whereabouts, the others would initially see it as Rai lying and being his impulsive self, demoralizing Rai and making him more susceptible to the Wu's power.
    • Once Wuya has Jack give Rai the Glove of Jisaku and "lets" the monks convince a possessed Rai to return to the temple, Rai ends up attracting more of the Wu, devolving himself into little more than a mindless beast and creating the perfect opening for Wuya to possess him herself and assume complete control of his Wu-enhanced form. In short, Wuya weaponized the trope.
    • At some point, the monks learn that the volcano eruption near Raimundo's hometown indeed did happen, and Raimundo was telling the truth.
  • Clingy MacGuffin: The Shen Gong Wu under the effects of the Heylin Comet to anybody who uses them during that time, which means Raimundo. After returning from his hometown, the Sword of the Storm wraps it tassel around Raimundo's wrist, but he managed to pry it off and put in the vault. This leave the Golden Tiger Claws stuck to his other hand though. Later, the Golden Tiger Claws drag Raimundo into the vault and puts on the Third Arm Sash, Orb of Tornami and Helmet of Jong. Even later, Wuya and Jack give him the Glove of Jisaku. Raimundo tries to fight the Shen Gong Wu, but the Third Arm Sash trips him slipping his hand into the glove. Back in the temple, the Glove of Jisaku attracts a bunch of other Shen Gong Wu onto Raimundo reducing his will power and allowing Wuya to possess him.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Omi and the two remaining monks use the Xiaolin Formation to reach out to a Shen-Gong-Wu-tized Raimundo, making him sober long enough for Omi to convince him to use his willpower to override the Shen Gong Wu.
  • Once an Episode: Omi, Kimiko and Clay challenge Wuya to a Xiaolin Showdown of "Steal the Wu". Whoever steals their opponents's wu first wins. The monks wager the Tangled Web Comb (Kimiko), Fist of Tebigong (Clay), and Lotus Twister (Omi), against Wuya's Mantis Flip Coin, Third Arm Sash, and Helmet of Jong. Wuya successfully disarms Kimiko and Clay. The monks briefly turn the tide by removing a bunch of Shen Gong Wu from Raimundo's body. This prompts Wuya to use the Shroud of Shadows despite it not being wagered. The monks win by using Dragon X Kumei Formation allowing Raimundo to fight Wuya from the inside and regain control of his body.
