- He Cleans Up Nicely: Charlie is revealed to have shiny golden fur when the Bears clean him up. He prefers his dirty fur because being so clean makes him uncomfortable.
- Infection Scene: When Panda becomes Terrified of Germs after seeing a horror movie, he pictures visible germs all over the subway while horror music plays. A guy coughs into his hand and touches the railing, coating it with germs that spread over to a mother's hand when she grabs the railing. The mother then licks her thumb to wipe crumbs off her kid's mouth, covering the kid's mouth with germs. The kid sneezes on Panda, causing him to flip out.
- Jaw Drop: Panda and Grizz have their mouths hanging wide open upon seeing how beautiful Charlie looks cleaned up.
- Mega-Microbes: The germs in the movie were big enough to be visible as green globs. Later, Panda imagines seeing the germs from the movie everywhere.
- Mix-and-Match Critters: At the toxic waste dump, Panda sees a rat peeking out of a hole. At first he finds it cute, but then it hops out to reveal that it has the lower half of a frog.
- Quicksand Sucks: It's technically a wasteland, when Charlie jumps in to save Panda, the pressure pulls him under and he almost drowns. Luckily, Panda saves him instead.
- Rescue Reversal: Charlie dives into the toxic waste dump to save Panda, but he starts sinking in the muck. Panda has to risk getting germs and exit the bubble to rescue Charlie and carrying him out.
- Terrified of Germs: Panda becomes this throughout the episode thanks to watching a movie about germs.
