The Poppy Rangers face the rival Ivy Rangers in a kickball tournament. With Grizz as the cheerleader.

Tropes:

  • Animal Athlete Loophole: The standard sports media "ain't no rule" use is averted as the rulebook for girls' kickball explicitly states that bears can play.
  • Baseball Episode: It's technically kickball, but still counts.
  • Call-Back: Ranger Tabes says Grizzly became an honorary Poppy Ranger after "we almost died in that cave" in "Poppy Rangers", and thus he's qualified to substitute for Wallace after her injury.
  • Down to the Last Play: The kickball game comes down to Grizzly having to score a home run in the bottom of the ninth with two outs.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Wallace's younger sister is called "Chuck" as her first name. Ironically, she looks more feminine than her boyish looking older sister.
  • Good Luck Charm: Grizzly acts as one to the Poppy Rangers as their cheerleader mascot, and it proves effective to the point where they curb-stomped the Ivy Rangers 12 to 7. After the Ivy Rangers catch up due to Grizzly taking Wallace's place with no cheerleader in sight, it's only when the Poppy Rangers start cheering on Grizzly that he manages to score the tie-breaking point that wins their first game.
  • Honorary True Companion: Tabes reveals that Grizzly became one after "Poppy Rangers", citing him allowed to play in Wallace's place after her injury.
  • Loophole Abuse: Subverted - Not only is there no rule against a bear playing; the second rule in the rulebook specifically says "Bears can play".
  • Opposing Sports Team: Ranger Zhao and her Ivy Rangers mercilessly mock and trash-talk the Poppy Rangers.
  • Sixth Ranger: Wallace's younger sister, Chuck, joins the Poppy Rangers for their kickball game.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Grizzly notes a poppy growing on their field as a good omen. Then the Ivy Rangers' coach stomps on it.
    • When the Poppy Rangers go into the bottom of the ninth inning a point behind, Ranger Tabes notes they can still win. The next two of their players up immediately get caught out.
