Go To

With Zarkon officially dead, the group come together to figure out their next move. However, now with the empire in a power vacuum, every Galra general has their eyes set on the empty throne, and one plans to not only use Olkarion against the paladins, but also to capture Voltron. Lance and Allura talking about how off Shiro seems, and the Holt siblings tell their father they can't go back to earth just yet. During the Galra attack, Lance manages to connect to everyone in Red, but Shiro is mysteriously vacant, until he suddenly appears to tell Lance something. However, Lance can't make out anything he's saying. After they destroy the Galra fleet and bring peace back to Olkarion, Lance asks what Shiro wanted to tell him, but the black paladin answers that he didn't hear or see anything during that moment. Shiro apologizes for reprimanding Lance and congratulates him on their victory. Lance smiles at the praise, but side-eyes Shiro with worry.

Tropes featured in this episode:

  • Animal Eye Spy: Haggar is watching Team Voltron through Shiro's eyes.
  • Assassination Attempt: One of the Galra generals sends assassins to kill Haggar in a failed attempt to eliminate his competition for the throne.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Sendak returns after being absent for 30 episodes.

  • Mental World: When Team Voltron use all of their bayards at once, they end up in a weird world full of light, but Shiro isn't standing in his position.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Lance's bayard changes from a sniper rifle into an Altean broadsword.
    • A bit of a Subversion as this happens while he's training and is the third form his bayard takes during the session. • Suddenly Shouting: Shiro yelling at Lance to stay out of the conversation and Lance looks understandably shocked at being treated like this.
  • Smash to Black: When Haggar kills her assassin's and their commander.
  • The Symbiote: The Galra general who was introduced in "Greening the Cube" sends down a virus to Olkarion, causing the plants to have a purple outline glow and start cutting off all of the Olkari's technology and subduing Voltron.
  • Villain Team-Up: Haggar recruits the Generals on the condition that they find her a new king.
