André's Horrible Girl

Tori notices strange changes in André's behavior when he starts dating a popular girl named Hope; as it turns out, Hope is really bratty, controlling and selfish, and Tori has to help him when he is asked to sing at her birthday party.

Meanwhile, Cat dogsits for her mom's boss, and trouble ensues when Jade comes as well.

Tropes:

  • Alpha Bitch: Hope is arguably one of the best examples of this.
  • Asshole Victim: Hope in a non fatal example gets a major concussion with a falling sign during an earthquake. As soon as she’s taken out into the ambulance, the party goers, including her father, stay to hear Andre perform his song.
  • Big "NO!":
Cat: Yay, we're hanging out togeth-
    Jade: NO!
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Hope screams this at Tori, twice.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Hope seems like a nice girl at first. However, she’s actually a controlling and demanding Spoiled Brat.
  • Deus ex Machina: Just her mother’s boss comes home and is about to see the damage done to his stuff, Cat is saved by a conveniently time earthquake, as he believes the earthquake is what caused the damage. Justified as Los Angeles area is known to have frequent earthquakes.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Played straight and for drama. It’s strongly implied that Hope is an abusive girlfriend to Andre. The way she treats him is viewed as comical like her scaring him into wearing a scarf she bought for him, but Andre eventually decides that it’s not worth it to be her boyfriend anymore after she violently pulls on his arm.
  • Idiot Ball: Hope grabs onto it during the earthquake. Instead of diving under cover, she stands out in the open and demands someone protect her presents.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her sour and aggressive behavior, Jade is willing to hang out with Cat during her house-sitting job. She also tries to comfort Cat when she’s about to cry over the homeowner’s damaged possessions.
  • Karmic Jackpot: After everything Cat had to put up with, her mom's boss assumes all of his possessions were damaged by the earthquake instead of Jade and Robby, letting her off the hook.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Hope getting concussed with a falling sign during the earthquake.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: When Cat's mom's boss returns home after the earthquake, he's more concerned about the kids and his dog being okay than the fact several of his possessions were broken.
  • Sassy Black Woman: Hope fits this trope.
  • Skewed Priorities: After his daughter was injured from the earthquake, Hope’s father opts to hear Andre and Tori sing before seeing Hope at the hospital.
  • Tempting Fate: Jade insists on messing around with the stuff in the house she and Cat are watching (including a guitar used and signed by Elvis Presley, despite Cat asking her to stop.
Jade: See, I touched the guitar and nothing bad happened - (The guitar's hangings snap and it flies out the window)
