Recap / Transformers G 1 The Secret Of Omega Supreme

Go To

Omega Supreme seems a bit off lately and Optimus wants to know why. After having to order Omega Supreme to deal with a monstrous threat from space awakened by the Constructions, Optimus gets more than he bargained for. Long ago, Omega Supreme defended Crystal City, where he was once friends with the Constructicons. Times were good. But their friendship came to an abrupt end because of Megatron and a little reprogramming. Becoming evil, the Constructicons set out to follow his orders, bringing them into conflict with their former friend, Omega Supreme.

  • Bittersweet Ending: The Constructicons manage to escape from Omega Supreme but the Earth is saved and Optimus's friendship and encouragement allows Omega to shed a tear, showing that there is hope for the Guardian robot to regain his old self.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The Constructicons were peaceful robots until Megatron reprogrammed them to be evil.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Cosmos has to go back and forth spying on the Decepticons and reporting back to Optimus because none of the Autobots are capable of space flight. And since Omega Supreme is too consumed in revenge, he's the best shot the Autobots have.
  • Crystal Landscape: Crystal City.
  • Freak Out: Omega was originally as talkative and friendly as any other Autobot but the Robo Smasher managed to partially reprogram him before he destroyed it. While he managed to stop it from turning him evil, it did make him very unemotional beyond anger at the Constructicons and gave him his signature speech pattern of short clipped phrases, although as shown by him telling Optimus of his past he CAN speak normally if need be but he no longer cares to.
  • Ironic Echo: The Constructicons, as Devastator, mocked Omega Supreme by repeating a statement he said when he tried to restore them.
Devastator: Quit squirming, this is for your own good. *Evil Laugh*
  • Kaiju: The asteroid creature. Described as a "bird creature" in production notes but more accurately resembles a giant mechanical winged scorpion.
  • Misplaced Retribution: While the Constructicons did destroy Crystal City, they only did so after being reprogrammed, so it makes little sense for Omega Supreme to want revenge on them, instead of Megatron.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Omega Supreme's battle with the Constructicons causes the creature inside the meteor to be released.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Omega Supreme has hunted the Constructicons for millions of years for betraying him and destroying Crystal City.
Omega Supreme: Revenge: Soon. Anticipation: High. Vengeance: GOOD!
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: That meteor contains a giant alien creature. It also acts as its food source and the Autobots have to lure it back there.
  • So Much for Stealth: Subverted. Cosmos tries to stealthily get a sample of the meteor from Astrotrain. Despite slipping off of him, Cosmos got away without being noticed.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Omega Supreme and the Constructicons were once friends until the Robosmasher changed all of that.
Omega: Megatron failed. I lived...but changed. Since then, I feel only hate for the Constructicons.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: The asteroid kaiju starts trashing San Francisco and the Autobots are having a little trouble containing it. Omega doesn't care - he is more concerned with killing Devastator, and is implied to even be a little bit afraid of the creature. When Optimus politely asks Omega to help clean up the mess, Omega threatens him. Optimus is not having any of that:
