In the Astral World, Jaga is imprisoned by an evil being. Lion-O journeys to the Astral World to rescue him, even though there may be no way for him to return.
Tropes:
- Creepy Cave: The Nether Witch's lair.
- Extra Eyes: Nemex, the jailor of the Astral Prison, has three eyes.
- So does the cave monster who scares Lion-O into falling down the shaft into the Nether Witch's lair.
- Faceless Eye: The first thing Lion-O encounters in the cave is a giant ghostly eye floating towards him. After a brief glare, it closes its non-existent eyelid and disappears.
- Giant Hands of Doom: The second thing in the cave is a large ghostly hand that tried to grab Lion-O.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Lion-O accepts being trapped in the Astral World.Lion-O Whatever I have to do to free Jaga, I'll do it!
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Nemex also has four arms.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Thanks to a good wizard sent to the Astral World by Mumm-Ra in the past, Lion-O is given a way back.
- Oh, Crap!: Lion-O's expression when he encounters a giant monster with glowing eyes in the cave.
- Pragmatic Villainy: Discussed. Slithe figures out Mumm-Ra wasn't lying about Lion-O being away because Mumm-Ra had nothing to gain from doing it.
- Suddenly Shouting: The Nether Witch is soft-spoken, but raises her voice when Lion-O tries to protest.Lion-O: Will you send me to the Astral World?
Nether Witch: Of course. But I must warn you... once you are there, you will never return.
Lion-O: But—
Nether Witch: NOOO!! YOU WILL LEAVE THIRD-EARTH FOREVERRRRR!!! You must make a choice, Lion-O.
