Donny returns to Townsvilles for a student/pony program much to Bubbles delight. However, after a first day at school, he makes a new friend name Chelsea much to the jealousy to Bubbles which threatens to drive a wedge in their friendship.

- Always Someone Better: Chelsea is this to Bubbles. Buttercup even calls her "Bubbles 2.0".
- Bizarre Taste in Food: Bubbles has been eating hay... For some reason.
- Caught Coming Home Late: When Donny comes back from hanging with Chelsea, he finds Bubbles waiting for him when she turns on the lights.
- Chekhov's Gun: The commemorative spoon Donny gives Bubbles. They use it to reflect a beam back at Chelsea.
- Death Ray: Mojo Jojo sucks up Donny's magic to fuel a death ray. Buttercup considers it a better use of unicorn magic, cliche as it is.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The way Bubbles and Donny fight later is like a married couple who have kids.

- Foreshadowing: During his and Chelsea's song, Donny says "I trust your motives through and through!" while referring to Chelsea.
- Inelegant Blubbering: Done by Bubbles after her argument with Donny.
- Mundane Utility: Buttercup considers the unicorns using their magic for simple things, like a list of Donny's allergies for example, to be a waste of perfectly awesome powers.
- My God, What Have I Done?: After Donny storms out, Bubbles immediately regrets what she said.
- Nightmare Face: Chelsea does one when she goes to attack Bubbles and Donny.
- Ridiculously Human Robot: Chelsea. Besides her lack of a nose and eyebrows, her normal form looks and sounds exactly like a human. This is even shown in her combat form, as her voice becomes more robotic.
- Robotic Reveal: Turns out Chelsea is an android sent by Mojo Jojo to befriend and capture Donny.
- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Once Bubbles finds out that Donny give Chelsea a similar spoon meant to symbolize their friendship, Blossom can pretty much see where this is going and fakes a phone call so she can pull Bubbles and Buttercup away before things really get heated.
- Transformation Sequence: Chelsea when she goes into her combat form, complete with music.
