Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 1 E3b Balloonatics

Go To

This episode contains examples of the following tropes.

  • An Aesop:
    • Always tell the truth, even though you might face consequences.
    • What you think might be broken, isn't actually broken after all.
  • Artistic License – Physics: Christopher Robin gets the balloon floating perfectly again by blowing it back up; in reality, air would've just let the balloon drop to the ground, because it uses helium gas to float.
  • Balloonacy: Pooh flying on the balloon in the opening scene; he even sings about it.
  • Bubble Gum Popping: Tigger's attempt to replace the balloon is to blow one out of bubble gum. It pops immediately, covering him, Rabbit and Piglet in gum.
  • Ending by Ascending: The episode ends with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Rabbit floating into the air on the balloon after Christopher Robin blows it back up.
  • The Faceless: The talking balloons in Pooh's nightmare.
  • Guilt-Induced Nightmare: Feeling guilty for popping the balloon, Pooh dreams that he's on trial for it and found guilty.
  • Joker Jury: Pooh has a nightmare in which he is put on trial by a jury of talking balloons after being responsible for popping Christopher Robin's balloon. The balloon is actually just deflated, not popped.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": Pooh's Catapult Nightmare and screaming for Christopher Robin causes Rabbit and Piglet to panic, realising that Pooh will come clean about the balloon.
  • Title Drop: At the end of the episode, as the balloon carries Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Rabbit away, Christopher Robin shouts, "Hey, come back, you balloonatics!"
