FBI agents mistakenly believe The Mask is actually an alien bent on world domination and do everything to capture him, while Putty Thing and Fish Guy go on a road trip.
Tropes:
- It Amused Me: The Mask gets himself out of the cell he was in. Agent X asks him how he got out which The Mask tells him it was easy and besides he wanted to mess around with them first.
- Interservice Rivalry: Both Kellaway and Agent X want to capture The Mask with Agent X believing The Mask to be an alien while Kellaway believes The Mask is a criminal so both of them fight with each other over who captures The Mask first.
- Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: Doyle admits that he views the Mask as this, as opposed to Agent X and Kellaway, who believe him to be either an alien or a common criminal, respectively. Out of the three of them, Doyle is the one who's right, not that Kellaway will ever accept it.
- Super Drowning Skills: In a twist of irony, it turns out that Fish Guy can't swim.The Mask: Not only are you a lame mutant, you're a lame FISH!
- Wedgie: After Agent X walks away from Kellaway at the end, a UFO appears behind Kellaway, beams him up and returns him to the ground after he's been given an atomic wedgie (implying it was actually The Mask pulling one last prank).
- Word, Schmord!: At the end, Lt. Kellaway tries one last time to tell Agent X that The Mask isn't an alien but a common criminal, but X isn't listening and just walks away from him, prompting Kellaway to give up and mutter "Aliens, schmaliens."
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: This is Kellaway's reaction when the Mask pretends to actually be an alien.The Mask: (in stereotypical alien getup) Greetings, Earth creatures!
Kellaway: Give me a break… - You Remind Me of X: Played for Laughs when the Mask breaks out of containment to break up Kellaway and Agent X's fight.The Mask: (as a bouncer) Alright, break it up! Take it outside, here! No brawling in the secret installation!
Agent X: How'd you get out of the containment unit?
The Mask: Oh, ple-he-he-he-he-hease! That old thing? Hey, I just stuck around 'cause you're almost as amusing as ol' Lieutenant Kellaway, here! (thumbs in his direction) In fact, you remind me of him. (points to Kellaway, then Agent X, then vice versa) No, you remind me of him, no, you remind me of him, no, YOU remind me of HIM! (to Kellaway) Except, I don't think you'd ever rescue me.
