A mouse has come to San Lorenzo, much to the enjoyment of the orphans and to the stress of Puss in Boots who has trouble fighting his feline instincts. Meanwhile, citizens of San Lorenzo keep turning into stone, and Artephius seems to think the two events are connected.
Tropes:
- Always Someone Better: Fartholomew states that he is this to Artephius, even claiming he can do a macrame knot that even he can't do.
- Batman Grabs a Gun: Dulcinea had to make an exception to her "no killing rule" as well as controlling her urge not to eat mice by eating Fartholomew because he was that dangerous and was by no means an innocent mouse.
- Beneath Suspicion: No-one even suspects the mouse of wrongdoing, and the townspeople even protect it.
- Big "NO!": Puss' reaction to seeing Dulcinea turned to stone.
- Cassandra Truth: Nobody believes Artephius when he tells the town that the mouse is actually an Evil Sorcerer that he turned into a mouse years ago. If anything they use Cassandra Did It because they believe the people turned to stone is actually from a Stone Spell he was practice earlier and he is diverting blame to the mouse.
- Furry Reminder: Dulcinea literally reminds Puss that she is a cat too, and feels exactly the same way about the mouse as he does, but controls herself for the sake of the kids.
- Not So Above It All: In the end, Dulcinea is the one to eat the mouse after chastising Puss for wanting to so the same thing the entire episode. Though at that point it was clearly proven he was no innocent mouse.
- Taken for Granite: What happens after your soul is removed from your body.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Everyone's reaction when they realize the only chance they have of escape is a plan devised by Artephius.
- Weirdness Censor: Artephius doesn't seem to realize that Pajuna was turned to stone till Puss tells him.
- Your Soul Is Mine!: Fartholomew steals souls to increase his power so that he can break the spell placed on him and resume human form.
