Too Old to Trick or Treat, Too Young to Die is the fourth episode of the third season of That '70s Show, and originally aired on October 31, 2000.

The gang finds themselves caught up in strange situations as Halloween festivities take a scary turn.

Tropes:

  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: An interesting case occurs after Kelso maked a comment about being in an Alfred Hitchcock movie without knowing it (the main idea of the episode). A musical sting plays, and with each beat that plays, we cut to a closeup of each member of the gang staring at the camera.note
  • Feathered Fiend: Kitty volunteering to take care of a neighbor's pet birds quickly becomes a parody of The Birds (complete with phone booth).
  • Shout-Out: Fez spends the episode dressed as Dr. Frank N. Furter.
    • The whole episode strings together the plotlines of Alfred Hitchcock's most famous films.
      • Eric is plagued with vertigo after seeing Fez fall off the roof when he was hanging off it. Donna then puts on an outfit reminiscent of Madeleine and falls off a water tower, mimicking the ending of Vertigo.
      • Fez breaks his leg from said fall, and is confined to Eric's bedroom for the rest of the day, watching the Pinciotti's house and believing Bob may have murdered Midge in a manner similar to Rear Window.
      • Kitty goes to a neighbor's house to take care of some birds, which get loose and reenact scenes from The Birds.
      • Kelso is attacked by a plane just like in North By Northwest and then gets attacked by Laurie in the shower as in Psycho. He also makes reference to "cases of mistaken identity", a common theme in Hitchcock film.
