Operation Cannon Spike was Teppen's eighteenth expansion, and the second part of the "Echoes of a Lost Super Civilization" trilogy.

''Operation Cannon Spike" contains examples of:
- Adaptational Heroism: In the 2009 reboot of Bionic Commando, Jayne "Mag" Magdalene is an obstacle to Spencer, as she believes he sold out his fellow bionics to work for the government. Here, the two are working together to save humanity.
- Joseph Gibson, better known as Super Joe had a rather tumultous relationship with Spencer in the reboot as well even being that game's true Big Bad. Here, he's more than happy to have Spencer released from prison to defend humanity, with no hidden agendas in play.
- Adapted Out: Charlie Nash and Mega Man (Classic) are no where to be seen in this expansion despite the former being the most front and center on the original game's box-art.
- The Sewer Gators from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard appear without their cameraman, Clancy Jarvis.
- Cold Sniper: Beauty from Cannon Spike is shown holding her rifle while giving the camera the stink eye in her secret art as a unit card (OCS 070).
