The Warden sees Jared smoking in grief over Charise believing he is dead and assumes that his smoking was why Superjail burned up. In effect, he bans smoking in Superjail, but Turban secretly makes cigarettes for the inmates and staff to smoke.
"The Last Pack" contains examples of:
- A Day in the Limelight: Turban, the Turban-wearing inmate, is given a significant role in this episode.
- Batman Gambit: Gary and Bird both knew that the inmates and staff would kill each other over the last pack, so they waited until the very end to take the pack when the inmates and staff were killed.
- Continuity Nod: Superjail is under renevation after the events of "Superhell! and "Burn Stoolie Burn".
- Downer Ending / Gainax Ending: Everyone (including the staff) gets turned into cigarettes and die when the giant Warden humanoids plan to smoke them using Ash as a lighter.
- Everybody Smokes
- Must Have Nicotine: The climax features all the inmates and staff fighting to death over the last pack of cigarettes.
- Never My Fault: The Warden blames the fire damage done to Superjail on Jared's smoking when it was actually his own responsibility that Superjail burned down at the end of the events of "Burn, Stoolie Burn".
