When Buck disappears and the team find evidence he might be contemplating suicide, they race against time to find Buck before he hurts himself.


  • Armor-Piercing Question: "Buck, are you thinking about killing yourself?"
  • Despair Event Horizon: Having to retire from S.W.A.T. has clearly been one for Buck.
  • Driven to Suicide: The plot of the episode involves trying to stop Buck from doing this.
  • It's Personal: 20 Squad are after blood when pursuing a drug addict who killed a mother and child while trying to steal enough money for his next fix.
    Hondo: (holding a gun to the suspect's head) Don't give me another reason to pull this trigger.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": 20 Squad upon finding a dead mother and daughter the methhead they're pursuing killed on impulse.
    • Also Hondo, Street and Deacon when they discover Buck has been making multiple phone call to a suicide helpline.
  • Parental Substitute: Street outright calls Buck "the closest thing to a father I ever had" while talking him out of committing suicide.
  • Sad Clown: Hicks mentions that his old partner from his patrol days was always laughing and joking around...so they were all taken completely by surprise when he committed suicide.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Hicks agrees to track Buck's credit cards to try and find the latter before he hurts himself.
    Hicks: I've been to too many cops' funerals.
  • Tantrum Throwing: While trying to scrub blood from the murder scene off his boots, Street finally snaps from anger that 20 Squad arrived too late to save the victims and his worries about Buck and angrily throws his boot at the lockers, narrowly missing Hondo.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: How Street, Hondo and Deacon talk Buck out of killing himself.
