Go To

Langa decides he wants to learn more skateboarding and has Reki teaching him. While he works on learning how to Ollie, many of the more skilled skaters of S have taken an interest in the newcomer skateboarder.

Tropes:

  • Afraid of Blood: Langa starts freaking out when he sees his blood after falling and quickly passes out.
  • Amusing Injuries: Langa gets hurt a lot in this episode, but the consequences to his injuries do make for funny scenes, such as his mom worrying if the reason he's covered in bandages is because he's being beat up at school.
  • Bait-and-Switch: As Langa comes upon a wall at school while trying to outrun the teacher, he tries to get into the zone like he did the night before. He unfortunately ends up pancaking on the wall instead. A girl who seems to be scouting Langa sees him at the skate park and his descriptions match up with "Snow". However, she then turns her back on him when she sees Langa flying off his board and rolling onto the ground. When Reki is making Langa his skateboard, his sketchbook is filled with realistic sketches of bears, wolves and stags which Langa seems excited by. Then it turns out Reki chose to draw a cartoonish Yeti on the board instead with Langa's expression. Langa is initially not amused by this.
  • Butt-Monkey: Langa is this for the episode as he's trying to learn how to skate, and failing continuously in hilarious ways.
  • Challenge Seeker: While at the behest of Adam, Miya wants to test his skills against Langa.
  • Chaos While They're Not Looking: Cherry and Joe do this when Cherry's client is off taking a phone call. Then pretend nothing has happened when the client turns back to see what the noise was about.
  • Did Not Think This Through: Langa and Reki both. Langa asks Reki to push him down a hill while he's taped his feet, without knowing how to turn or stop properly on a skateboard, nearly causing him to get hit by an incoming truck. Reki forgets to even teach him those basics as well when they're trying to run from the teacher.
  • Failure Montage: This episode could easily have been renamed "Langa Fail Montage". Langa is continuously failing his ollies and skating multiple times from slamming face first into a wall, tripping after trying to ollie and nearly getting hit by a truck!
  • I'm Standing Right Here: When Miya visits Dope Sketch, Reki initially thinks Miya was seeking him out. The kid completely ignores him as he gives his full attention to Langa and asks if he wanted to race against him.
  • Mama Bear: Nanako worries that Langa is being bullied at school and wonders how to bring it up to him without coming off as an overbearing parent.
  • Meaningful Name: The S community decides to name Langa "SNOW" since he had blue hair and eyes that looked cold like snow.
  • Oh, Crap!: Langa's reaction when he realizes he's headed right towards a busy street, leading him to try and stop his skateboard similar to snowboarding. This instead sends him flying towards the street and almost being hit by an incoming truck.
  • Title Drop: For the series itself. When Reki waxes on the greatness of skating and how it's a sport you can do practically anywhere at anytime with him triumphantly declaring that, "Skating is Infinite!"
  • What Is This Feeling?: Langa can feel his heart beating at the thought of skateboarding again and he wants Reki to teach him because of it.
  • When He Smiles: Langa's face literally brightens up when he manages to pull of his first ollie. The camera spends time focusing on Langa's happy expression and how his eyes brighten up.
