Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 3 Heavy Meddling With The Anatomy

Go To

When Lincoln tries to hide a bully problem from his sisters, things go from bad to gross...

Rick & Morty episode: Anatomy Park

Loud House episode: Heavy Meddle

  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • In Loud House canon, Ronnie Anne is only mentioned at the end of "Heavy Meddle" and doesn't fully appear until "Save The Date". She makes her full debut in this chapter.
    • Carol Pingrey makes her full debut in this chapter too, taking the place of Annie from the original episode. In canon, she didn't fully appear until "Selfie Improvement" in Season 3 (barring a couple second appearance in Season 1's "Picture Perfect").
  • Adapted Out: Annie, the sole surviving employee of Anatomy Park, is nowhere to be seen. Instead, Carol takes her place, having signed up for an internship at the park (though she quits when she realizes she got more than what she bargained for).
  • Adaptational Explanation: We get one as to why Ronnie Anne was pranking Lincoln harder than usual; she was stressed out for feeling really sick (caused by the diseases loose in Anatomy Park) and she was taking it out on him.
  • Adaptational Nice Girl: While she tries to appear tough, Ronnie Anne does feel guilty about the way she bullied Lincoln. In fact, she even started to back off when Lincoln confronted her about it.
  • Cheer Up Episode: As Lana goes with Lincoln to Anatomy Park, she starts to enjoy her time there (killer diseases aside, of course) and lightens up from her depression at Charles' departure.
  • Continuity Nod: Lana is still sad about Charles leaving in the previous chapter.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: Defied; as in canon, the sisters believe that Ronnie Anne's bullying of Lincoln is a sign that she likes him. Rick, however, bluntly digresses.
Rick: You don't know this girl. You don't why she could be bullying Lincoln. She could just be a jerk. B-besides, what are you trying to teach him? That when someone treats you like crap and puts gum in your hair, it means they love you?
  • Extremely Protective Child: Lana furiously attacks Poncho when he takes Lincoln hostage.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even Lana had a look of disgust on her face when having to leave Ronnie Anne's body through her colon.
  • Foreshadowing: Lori mentions early in the chapter that Carol apparently got an internship with a scientist. As we find out later on, this scientist turns out to be Rick and the internship was specifically for Anatomy Park.
  • Hypocrite: Lori calls Rick one when he admits to using Ronnie Anne as the host for Anatomy Park when he caught her bullying Lincoln after ranting to the sisters about them meddling with Lincoln's life.
  • Papa Wolf: Rick picked Ronnie Anne to be the host for Anatomy Park because he saw her bullying Lincoln. And he was a little drunk.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Dr. Bloom and the other Anatomy Park employees do not die at the end of the chapter and Bloom would make additional appearances later on. Subverted for Poncho, however, as he dies exactly as he did in Rick and Morty canon.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: Carol quits Anatomy Park first chance she gets upon seeing how life-threatening the job could get (and the fact that she was never told the park was located inside the body of a little girl). Dr. Bloom admits her decision was fair.
  • Toilet Humor: Lincoln, Lana, and Carol leave Ronnie Anne's body through her... lower inner basement. Even Lana was disgusted.
Lincoln: So we all agree to never bring that up ever again, right?
Lana and Carol: (Nod in agreement)
