Tropes

  • Blatant Lies:
    • The baby monitor reports Peter's actions while Asta is in the room. Harry claims he is practicing ventriloquism but can't come close to sounding like the electronic voice.
    • Peter denies working with an alien after he handcuffs McCallister in the confusion and starts hacking into her systems, saying maybe he is good at thinking on his feet. Que Harry giving thumbs up to the security camera.
  • Cardboard Prison: The black site isn't actually prepared to contain an actual alien and Harry escapes as soon as they put him in a cell.
  • Chekhov's Army: Harry finds the guards he rendered comatose at the end of season one, having showed again in The Weight while searching the black site. He awakens them and the other soldiers are happy to see them up and about until they start attacking.
  • Couch Gag: The IKEA-like instructions explain how to use sunscreen and not to coat a space ship with it and fly it into the sun.
  • Friendly Enemy: Once they agree to a truce, Peter hangs out at Harry's place and offers some good advice.
  • Hope Spot: Peter finally reunites with his son but dies protecting him from The Mole a moment later.
  • The Peeping Tom: Ellen basically warns Ben and Kate that if they have sex in the clinic room, she will spy on them.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Ellen repeatably denies Ben was drinking and driving unprompted after he nods off while driving. He hasn't but she isn't helping his case.
  • Taking the Bullet: When The Mole takes aim at Robert, Peter dives in the way to protect him.
  • Trojan Prisoner: Harry pretends to be Peter's prisoner so General McCallister will let them into her black site. He quickly escapes and runs amok looking for Baby.
